birth to five policy allianceeducating decision-makers in statesThe Birth to Five Policy Alliance fosters policy change within states to ensure that more at-risk infants, toddlers, preschoolers and their families are better prepared for success in school and life. Alliance grantees pursue one or more of three basic activities: building capacity in states for policy innovation and investment; supporting policymakers; and analyzing and tracking policies. In part, the Alliance also is cultivating a network of like-minded early childhood advocates within states similar to the network of like-minded early childhood practitioners and philanthropists being developed through the Educare network. These peer advocacy efforts are focused on more than a dozen "focal" states; but the Alliance's policy reach extends across America. The Alliance is supported by Buffett Early Childhood Fund, W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, JB and MK Pritzker Family Foundation, George Kaiser Family Foundation, Irving Harris Foundation and an anonymous foundation. visit alliance members’ web sites
